Rally Wednesdays with DC Vote and DC4D

Last week, the DC voting rights coalition organized the first of its planned visibility rallies outside US Senate office buildings, and it will continue to Demand the Vote every Wednesday until the Senate passes legislation to grant DC citizens full voting rights in the US House of Representatives.
DC4D’s IT Chair, Keith Ivey, was at the rally and took the above picture (thanks, Keith!). Check out the rest of Keith’s pics here, and listen to WAMU’s news coverage here.
Next Wednesday, July 25th, please join DC4D in demanding the vote now! Kesh Ladduwahetty, DC4D Chair, will join our DC Shadow Delegation and Senator Orrin Hatch in calling on the Senate to vote on S. 1257, the DC Full House Voting Rights Act of 2007.
After the Rally, help us hand-deliver joint letters from DCFD and our sister organization, Democracy for Utah, to each Senator asking for their vote.
Join us at the next Rally on Wednesday, July 25 from 12:00 - 1:30 PM. Let Senators know we demand the vote!
We will meet on the North side of Constitution Avenue between First and Second Streets, NE, for a short rally and then fan out in the Senate office buildings to distribute timely literature to staffers.
Join us on July 25 from 12:00 - 1:30 PM. Please RSVP to votingrights@dcfordemocracy.org.
See you on Wednesday!
Karen Rose
Chair, Voting Rights & Democracy Committee
